The three words that sum up our work are “authentic, engaging and effective” and it’s the first that tends to steer us away from detailed storyboarding of our videos.

After all, much of our filming has a documentary feel; we are on location filming volunteers working, students learning or business-people managing.

But of course there are many occasions when we need to have established the core direction and structure of a video prior to filming. We do this through one of our “building block” diagrams.

These show the elements that will make up the film, their order and rough duration and also use of voiceover and music.

They allow us to come up with interesting ways of structuring videos and to share these with clients prior to filming.
