We’re often to asked to film in offices so we need to ensure the sequence is visually interesting and engaging. We do this by using a combination of techniques.

– Wide shots taken from an interesting perspective to set the office location.

Away from the desk interviews so we can give the person a more interesting framing.

– Blurring the background  ensures the focus is on the person speaking, rather than on their colleagues working behind.

– Slider shots give movement, making offices look more interesting. It also gives people working at desks more life and depth. Often we might slide from around a door-frame or from the side of a computer to reveal the scene.

– Visual work on screen which ideally is colourful and impactful covers cuts and shows what the person is talking about. We often film these over-the-shoulder.

Action cutaways help to put an emphasis on people rather than office furniture. So we often have cutaways of our key contributor walking around and speaking to colleagues. It’s too easy to just film people sitting at their desk as cutaways.

Tidy shots are often the result of us moving clutter from desks or moving unwanted chairs from a conference room.
